026 – Is College Necessary?

by Sam Crump on July 30, 2015

Show Notes:

What the heck is going on with college in the USA? The cost is skyrocketing and people are beginning to question the value of the all the time and expense. I submit that the last 40 years has brought a misguided emphasis on 4-year college degrees and many have little to show for it other than monumental debt.

Scholars such as Charles Murray have talked about this problem and the need for a return to apprenticeship, internship, trade & technical education. We need to stop the mantra of “every child should go to college”. We need people pursuing meaningful training so they can contribute towards society and make a living based on their value. A bachelor’s degree does little towards that.

025 – Boston Strong

by Sam Crump on July 23, 2015

Show Notes:

This past week I traveled to Boston for a business conference. I was struck by the fact that our hotel was a block from the site of the Boston bombing that took place on April 15, 2013. On top of that, our keynote speaker was Rob O’Neill who was the Navy Seal who took the fatal shot that killed Osama Bin Laden.

I knew that I wanted to do this podcast about these two related issues and the theme of never quitting.

022 – 2016 Presidential Candidates

July 2, 2015

Show Notes: Well, I decided I wanted to jump into some politics today. What could be more about leadership than a presidential campaign? In this episode I handicap the candidates in both parties. Some other issues I address: -I believe the Internet will promote the growth of third parties. -Voters are registering “independent” at an […]
