043 – Are You Well Read?

by Sam Crump on December 13, 2015

Show Notes:

At first I discuss some of the new late night talk show hosts. Then the dangers of crossing the street while I am wearing earbuds and all the drivers are looking at their phones.

On the topic of being well read, I ponder the idea that not many of us are very avid readers. Our parents and grandparents were better readers. I read a little bit about a lot of things. I scan two newspapers everyday. But I don’t spend enough time actually sitting down and reading books. I really enjoy it when I do, but I am easily distracted. My wife, however, is a good reader. And fast, too. I admire that.

My earliest memory of fondness for a book was one given to me by my fourth grade teacher. Later, I enjoyed reading Catcher In the Rye by JD Salinger. It is a coming of age book and I read it when I was 13 and traveling alone.

During this holiday season I resolve to read more books… and I hope you will, too!Stack_of_books2
